2011 Service to the University Award: Sue C. Robinson '85
Sue C. Robinson ’85, recipient of the Distinguished Alumna Award for Service to the University, is the managing director of Shenandoah Summer Music Theatre and administrative assistant for the Conservatory’s Theatre Division. In her work for the university, Robinson handles the business end of theatre, and oversees contracts for shows and personnel, advertising and program sales, the front of the house and concessions, as well as general operations of business. She has served the theatre at Shenandoah University for 35 years, and works hard to raise much-needed funds for productions. Throughout the years, Robinson has organized fashion shows and “A Chocolate Affair,” and has chaired and co-chaired the SSMT Gala. In 1994, she was honored with the James R. and Mary B. Wilkins Appreciation Award, an honor presented to individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the development of the reputation of the university, implemented major cost-saving ideas, shown outstanding leadership in difficult situations and/or achieved distinction or special recognition in the recipient’s occupation or profession. Robinson is a member of Braddock Street United Methodist Church and an honorary member of the Alpha Psi Omega National Theatre Honor Society. She was named Outstanding Quotarian by Quota International of Winchester (2000-2001), and has served two separate two-year terms as president of the organization.

Quota International includes men and women in its network of nearly 6,500 members in 300 clubs in 14 countries.
