Our Club

Quota International of Winchester was chartered in 1942; we are very proud of our accomplishments and our members. We currently have 19 active and vibrant members who are enthusiastic and committed to our Quota motto "We share" and our Quota objectives:

To serve Country and Community

To promote high ethical standards

To emphasize the dignity of all useful occupations

To develop good fellowship and friendship

To advance ideals of righteousness, justice, international understanding and good will.

Quota begins with local clubs and club members. We are part of the 19th District, which consists of Clubs in Virginia and North Carolina. Each District has a Governor, Lt. Governor and Secretary/Treasurer. This group then becomes part of a designated "Area". Our District is part of the South Area, which includes Arkansas, Georgia, Florida, Louisiana, North Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and Virginia. It also includes Aruba, Curacao, Rotterdam, Suriname, and Zeist. We are governed by an International Board consisting of an International President, Vice President, Treasurer and Directors of four Districts in the U.S. and an Area Director from Canada and Australia/New Zealand.

There are few entities in our community that Quota has not touched. In the beginning, we operated on a small budget, but we devoted time and money to the local schools and to the Winchester Hospital. We sold war bonds during World War II, netting $15,700 in bond sales in just one evening. The Winchester Club has been very supportive through the years in educating the deaf and purchased a number of hearing aids and set up a hearing aid bank. We have also awarded a number of scholarships to local schools. Our membership is proud of our relationship with the community over these years. Here are a few causes that we have helped along the way:

We have joined with Quota clubs all over the world in creating and implementing the "Infant Hearing Testing". We have helped with donations to the International Hearing Institute, who have created and continue to enhance the "colecular" implants and upgrading hearing devices around the world.
